Keystone Alliance 2025 Wrap-Up: Driving Impact Through Shared Services and Collaboration

In 2025, Keystone Alliance helped redefine what collaboration means for nonprofits and the I/DD services sector, building stronger systems, deeper partnerships, and a foundation for growth. Through shared back-office services, strategic consulting, and partnerships with Glenkirk and Search360, we advanced our mission to strengthen nonprofits and create lasting impact.

This year was transformational. We launched a new three-year strategic plan, transitioned to a co-leadership model, and deepened collaboration across Glenkirk, Search360, and Keystone. These changes were designed to unify our organizations, expand our reach, and amplify impact across the nonprofit sector.

Even amid sector-wide uncertainty from funding volatility to workforce challenges, Keystone stayed grounded in its values of integrity, teamwork, innovation, engagement, and relationships. Here are a few highlights that defined our year:

  • Strengthened Internal Capacity: Launched a cross-functional process improvement initiative to map core business processes and lay the groundwork for automation.

  • Advanced Strategic Alignment: Completed the discovery phase of a branding project to unify voice and identity across Keystone, Glenkirk , Search360 and Mission + Strategy.

  • Expanded Market Reach: Mission + Strategy, Keystone’s consulting division, delivered engagements that helped nonprofits statewide align mission and business strategy. Through practical tools, insights, and thought leadership, Mission + Strategy supported organizations navigating growth, collaboration, and sustainability.

  • Invested in Technology: Migrated all affiliates to a unified Microsoft 365 environment, enhancing security, collaboration, and operational agility.

  • Prepared for Leadership Continuity: Developed board succession frameworks and welcomed new board members to strengthen governance and future readiness.

Founding Organizations’ Highlights

Glenkirk and Search360 are not only Keystone Alliance’s affiliates—they are its founders. In 2009, these two nonprofit organizations, dedicated to supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, came together to create Keystone. For the past 16 years, Keystone has provided a shared-services backbone that centralizes finance, HR, IT, and compliance functions. This model enables Glenkirk and Search360 to focus on their missions while benefiting from professionalized infrastructure and strategic leadership. Their partnership through Keystone reflects a commitment to collaboration and capacity building as a pathway to greater impact.

Glenkirk marked a defining moment in its strategic journey in 2025

The organization successfully relocated its administrative to a unified, community-facing site. This move was more than a change of address—it fulfilled a long-term vision to ensure day program, clinical, and behavioral health facilities reflect Glenkirk’s mission and values. The new location is purpose-built, inclusive, and situated within the community. Glenkirk also opened a new Community Day Services site in Mundelein that will serve up to 55 participants daily, expanding access and capacity. These milestones strengthen Glenkirk’s ability to engage the community, enhance person-centered care, and advance its strategic vision for years to come.

Search360 achieved two transformative milestones in 2025 that broaden its reach and deepen its impact

The organization launched a community-based Behavioral Health Clinic (BHC), introducing a new service line that expands access to behavioral health supports beyond its traditional programs. BHC services are designed to reach a broader population, address gaps in care, and uplift underserved segments of the community through integrated behavioral health, housing, and social supports. Search also opened its first new Community Integrated Living Arrangement (CILA) home in more than a decade, creating residential opportunities that reflect its commitment to inclusion and person-centered care. Together, these initiatives position Search to lead in integrated, community-based services and deliver lasting impact.

Financially, we closed the year in a position of strength, meeting and exceeding revenue and sustainability targets across all entities. These outcomes reflect disciplined execution and values-driven leadership, ensuring that growth is not just financial but deeply aligned with purpose.

Looking ahead, Keystone is positioned for growth and impact

In FY26, we will focus on four priorities that build on the progress of 2025:

  • Process Optimization: Continuing to streamline and document core business processes to strengthen efficiency and prepare for future service innovation.

  • Rebrand and Market Expansion: Launching a refreshed Keystone Alliance brand to clarify our identity and attract new shared back-office service clients.

  • Leadership Development: Advancing succession planning to cultivate leadership continuity and prepare the next generation of leaders across the organization.

  • Market Growth: Expanding our consulting and shared services portfolio to serve more mission-driven organizations with the strategic insight and operational excellence they deserve.

To our affiliates, partners, and colleagues: thank you for walking alongside us. Together, we are building a future defined by collaboration, innovation, and shared impact.

Here’s to 2026, a year of possibility, progress, and purpose.
